President's Corner
June 2, 2010
Greetings all!
I hope that you all are having an awesome season out
shooting fish! It’s been a little slow for me as time does not allow me to get
out much.
As many of you know we held our first tournament of the season
in Mid May at
Lake
Odessa
. Conditions were
pretty tough, but we some how as a group were successful in removing another
ton of carp from the lake. This was year number nine at
Odessa
, we may have to do something special
next year for the tenth anniversary of the Schwackmaster Classic!
One thing I would like to comment on, a very
serious note, some of you that were there also witnessed a medical emergency
with our club VP Adam Barth. I just want to say first he is doing fine,
healed up and feeling well. He has been going through quite a few tests to try
to find the cause. Second, THANK YOU to all that stepped in and took
control of the situation at the time of need. It truly goes to show how much
class you all have in helping a fellow outdoorsman out when needed. I have
spoke with Adam and his dad, his dad commented that we are one great bunch of
friends to his son, and he wanted me to thank everyone!!
We now have BAI Tee Shirts for sale, and large BAI decals
(12”) they will look great on the boat or truck. Please send me an email if
you’d like to purchase any of these items, the money made on the shirts and the
decals is a large part of the revenue this club survives on.
I am still working on getting the website updated; I really
need new pictures if you have any. Please feel free to email me photos and I
will have them put up. I would consider doing a section on the website called
“photo of the week” which could be updated weekly if I could get new pictures.
Our next tournament is going to be at Eveland Access near
Oskaloosa, June 19th, looks like there will be plenty of water, and I hope the
weather cooperates. There is going to be some issues this year with getting to
the access due to bridge construction, I will get a map made to make it easier for
everyone to get there and put it up on the site.
Hope to see you all there!
Thanks!
Pat
